Our Farm Family, Roaming Pastures Co-op

When starting out, it was vital for us to find a partner we could trust to bring our dream to life. All of our milk is sourced from a single farm located off Historic Route 66 in Missouri. Each field is made up of paddocks planted with high yielding, high quality grass called ‘perennial ryegrass’. This type of grass is full of nutrients and protein for our dairy cows and the milk produced is rewarded with benefits such as higher in Omega 3s and CLAs than that of conventional products.

NEW ZEALAND FARMING HERE IN THE US

We’re inspired by the farming techniques employed by the New Zealand farming community, leaders in the free range dairy industry. We combine these techniques with best practices in American agriculture to give our customers a selection of pure, premium pasture raised dairy products, unlike conventional products.

OUR PROMISE

At Zeal Creamery, we are proud to offer a single farm, at-scale, fully traceable assortments of premium, fluid milk. Traditionally, the way milks are collected, mixed and packaged has meant that it is impossible to trace its origin for at-scale dairy products. We do things differently at Zeal. We want our customers to know where their milk comes from and are committed to consistently providing that reassurance.

As a result, we select only Zeal farmers that have a passion for this traceability, for their animal’s welfare and for sustainability. Each dairy cow is free ranging in her natural environment needed to produce pure, premium Zeal milk.

The Zeal Difference

 WE USE PASTORAL FARMING

This is a term given to farming that focuses on livestock rather than on crops. With pastoral farming or grazing, dairy cows harvest what we grow and are able to produce pure, premium milk.

OUR DAIRY COWS ARE GRASS FED

They graze outside in the open air and green pasture and this has a great effect on the nutrients in our milk. Each bottle has been filled to the brim with wonderful vitamins, minerals and proteins which contribute to a healthy diet.

OPEN PADDOCKS, NO BARNS

Our fields are made up of smaller paddocks in which our dairy cows graze. When they’re eating green grass, there is no need for a barn. Waste management happens naturally outdoors meaning no massive collection tanks that other confinement farms would require.
